Once we started to walk around, we started with the White handed monkeys, chimpanzees and orangutans. I was amazed looking at the orangutans up close, I didn’t expect to see such human features.
They are such fascinating creatures. I learnt a lot from Emma during this Zoo visit as she has a-lot of knowledge, I think I may have driven her crazy with all my questions.
We continued to walk around and came across animals like Tigers, Lions, Hippos, Zebras, Giraffes, Coyotes, Water Hogs and Antelope. I loved walking around the Zoo although at some points I did feel slightly sad knowing these animals are not designed for us to look at in cages, they shouldn’t be caged for our enjoyment. They should be in the wild, where they belong. Although I do understand that Toronto Zoo is one of the most ethical and they do a-lot for the conservations which made is slightly less bitter.
My favourite animal in the Zoo was the the Hippos! I loved seeing them splash around in the water trying to catch an apple. - Cheyanne Wakelam
"We carried on walking round the zoo looking at the beautiful animals. Some were really difficult to see, and others were more obvious to find. The zoo was divided into separate geographical sections. There was an African section, Euro-Asian, Australasia etc. It would be impossible to walk around and see all the enclosures fully in one day it was so huge. At lunchtime we stopped to grab food at one of the catering spots and we got pizza and fries. We were able to sit in a shaded bit for a while, so it was good to give my poor shoulders a rest from the sun! When we finished lunch, we booked tickets to go on the Zoo mobile. Which is a train/bus like form of transport with carriages on to get between the different sections. " - Clair Windsor
"When we got off the zoo mobile, we discovered we were at the stop that has the zipline. A few of the others were keen to have a go and because my new thing since this trip seems to be hang from heights and try scary things, I had a go too." - Clair Windsor
" I learned a lot from going round the zoo and learning new facts and looking at the exhibits, yet I still had a blast as we were able to go see what excited us as individuals. Which was great in my opinion as some of the exhibits were very similar to what we see at home, and I opted for going to see the things that were different like the artic and grey wolves which was great as I have never seen live wolves before personally and I really enjoyed it." - Connor Gibb
We even got to try beavertails!
And ride the Tundra Airride! Which gave us great views of the zoo as this was a zipline.
